Hopper Bus Service

The Ponteland Hopper service provides transport from the person's home to destinations within the Ponteland area. This service is designed to work with people who live away from the regular Ponteland bus service routes and who find low floor access helpful for baby buggies, walking frames or wheelchairs.

The Hopper is available to people of all ages and will pick up and return you to your door. The service is being run by Adapt and will operate on each Friday from 9am until 2pm. It has been set up in partnership with Northumberland County Council under the Ageing Well programme, Ponteland Town Council, Ponteland Community Partnership and Home Instead Senior Care.

The previous smaller bus has been replaced in response to demand for this extended service. The dial a ride service can pick up and return to your door on a flexible route around Ponteland.

The Ponteland Hopper can be used to attend appointments, shopping, meeting friends and socialising or visiting the library or whatever you wish. The cost is £3 for a return fare. To book a seat, please give Adapt (NE) a ring on 01434 600599 (at latest 12 noon on Thursday).
